Sometimes I find myself getting a direction for my life and it feels like I have come to the end of the road, standing before a giant ocean separating me from the next step.
Fear creeps in. Doubt. Disbelief that I must have heard wrong or missed a step.Worry.
There doesn’t seem to be a way…
Or is there?
God’s Word tells us in John 14:6 ” Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life.'”
Sometimes I feel like I overlook that first part. I know Jesus is the truth and light, but when it comes to the way I immediately think of the spiritual way.
What if Jesus also meant the way as in the physical earthly example of how we live BUT also a representation of how God makes a way for us when we physically do not see a way ourselves?
The Old Testament and New Testament of the Bible are filled with the bold and powerful acts of God that reveal His glory and provision.
God responded to the bold acts of faith of His believers. They obeyed in the belief in God.
Noah built an ark for years and years waiting for rain. Abraham took his miracle son up a mountain believing God would provide a sacrifice at the top. God brought the Israelites to the sea and parted it before them. He provided manna and quail in the desert. He water burst forth from a rock.
When there seemed to be no way for man to be reconciled in relationship to God, God sent Jesus. The Ultimate Way.
Even in Jesus’ ministry on earth, He made a way for others. He made the lame to walk, the blind to see, He walked on water, rose Lazarus from the dead. I think Jesus showed us the way to act in faith and obey in belief in who God says He is.
When I come to the waters that prevent me from continuing, I know that my God will make a way.
When my bank account says no, when people don’t understand, when I cannot connect the dots, when I am tired…
when all I have is a word or promise from God, that is ALL I NEED.
He is the way maker! Making the way for us is how God reveals His glory.
It shows that His hand is involved. It shows that it is in His strength.
One of God’s names is Jehovah Jireh, which literally means The Lord Will Provide. Providing a way, providing the means, providing the wisdom is who He is and God is faithful.
People say, “God’s Will, God’s Way or God’s bill” It is cliche, but true. It isn’t what He does, IT IS WHO HE IS.
So friends, have hope. act in faith. pray and praise through it. be bold.
